Hi all I have a 1978 2.0lt petrol lt28 with the temperature gauge not working. I can only find the 2.4 Diesel sender Anyone know why the petrol one isn't coming up must be a relatively common part? Is there any way I can test the circuit prior to changing the sensor? I see the wire going to it could I connect this to earth or put a voltage to it to check the gauge?

The fuel gauge still works by the way.

Many regards

Andrew

13 and 15(first one) were both used on LTs of the same era.

A sensor does just that so I cannot see a reason for the design to be diesel rather than petrol, other than the physical size.

I got the old one out and the part number was 028919501A on it turns out to be the same as the MK1 golf.

Hopefully help someone out who has the same issue.

All fixed and working
