Right, the van has been sprayed, cosseted inside, and the egine has had the once-over, Diesel chap reckons that the glow-plug-light goes out before the relay clicks off, so instead of turning the key when the light is out, wait for the `click`, better to do it twice he says.... Anyway, I have bought a 3-way fridge (top-opening) and need some basic electrical advice. I have a new leisure battery (140ampH) and need to wire up:- 1. alternator to charge up leisure battery. 2. 12v power to fridge and internal lights and to `whale` pump (via switch on SMEV sink.) 3. also gotta place an inverter into the line somewhere, better to get a leccie in or have a go myself? thoughts please, oh yes, another thing.... ANYONE GOT A SOLAR PANEL FOR SALE? ps. only found out yesterday it is 6 cylinder, told u I was a Numpty. Edited by wheelrim |

I used this when I did my LT28. http://www.kampenwagen.co.uk/Split%20Charge.htm Tells you exatly how to do it and what to buy. You can run your fridge lights etc through a vehicle fusebox. These are available at camper van/caravan shops. Or you can use inline fuses connected to the positive wire as close to the batery as possible. Remember to use the correct amp wire and fuses. Total watts (output used) divided by volts equals amps. You can read about my camper conversion here. If you're having trouble sleeping this will solve it.

it is quite common for the light to go out first so the glow plugs are still powered up while you crank it,if it is hard to start check the glow plugs themselves
