1.9 petrol syncros dont have the damper at all,clearly they have no vibration issues,cj.

Yes the petrols have the rubber coupling at the back, the TD's have it at the front.

Hello Andy,
Are you saying that because mine is a TD the the rubber damper should be where it is, up the front end.?

Yes, it varies between petrol and TD. The theory is it because the engines have different vibration characteristics.

A quote from Bentley about prop
" On vehicles with fuel injection and rubber damper on drive shaft, damper faces transmission". On my 16" TD Syncro my prop is mounted damper to the front, is this wrong or is it only fuel injection models that are damper to the back (transmission).
Can some one clarify for me?
