Not much room for finding reverse and first. A lot more north/south.

Yep, I think you're right bud. Just been looking at LTcamper89's photo and it is different to mine. I didn't take into account the issue to where the 'hump' is located. |

Don't know but at a guess i would say RHD hole would be more elongated as the amount of travel required for the g/stick to move left for the linkage cross bar to work.

Just been out and fitted my new LHD gaitor to my LHD van and all is good.
But, I have to say, I took a look at the hole it covers and to my untrained eye it looks completely symetrical. I'd be amazed if the RHD hole is different, and if that's the case they should be directly interchangeable. |

Not sure - I've got my old LHD one if someone wants to try it. I don't know anyone local to me with a RHD van that I can try it on. Edited by Chappy - 18 Oct 13 at 20:43 |

I didn't have the dropping of the cart problem, but it was all in German. I used one tab with Google translate open, and the other on the shopping cart and flicked back and forth copying and pasting Takes a little patience though! |

I did not have much success on line with vw classic .de once i went over 2 items they just drop off the cart ! and you have to start again, the pages not fully translating did not help either so i sent an e-mail asking for a phone number as not listed. No number was the reply any way after many e-mails was 25.20 euro (£21-35 stg) to southern Ireland so in the end just phoned Andy at vw heritage and although the gator is not on their part search they can get it found this much easier and much less frustrating !

This is mine. The hole in the mat is 7"x5", since I could not find a tape measure it is an educated estimation.

I have been trying to enter the hsautoparts.nl website but I cannot see any links on that page to the shop. Site under construction logo at the bottom so maybe that's the problem.
Chappy; How mush did the gaiter cost? Postage?
Thanks

Let me know if anyone wants my old LHD one in order to experiment with RHD fitment. I could take a photo of the gear lever aperture in the floor if of our LHD - if someone could do the same for a RHD we could compare 'holes' |

Great pictures great feed back lads and like the humor keep up the good work. I'm sure there are many R/H/D owners on here watching and waiting with great interest on both your reports.

Hmmm not sure what to make of it really. There are no part numbers on my old or new one and they're identical in every way (apart from the huge rip in the side of my old one) The bag the new one came in is marked 'Original VW Classic parts" with the VW logo, and the stock label has the VW logo on it with part number 40-281 711 101 A. I did check mine and it is not a shiny, inside or out, and there are no identifying marks either. I therefore doubt it is OEM, but it does look very similar to the one you have now, even the rounded end. Pictures and dimensions tomorrow night, honest.
?How did you take the middle picture? I can see both hands and both feet, that leaves nothing to operate the shutter with.....?or does it?
