Hi there,
We have been into volkswagens for years but lost our way about 5 years ago with modern BMWs etc....
Having started on a beetle many years ago, then a 66 californian import split screen (sold for pennies back then!), numerous classic water coolers we are after a nice camper.
I say nice, just ,mot'd and ready to go.
Looking at a westfalia, preferably a high top.
Now I have had an '83 transporter van, but not for that long. So wondered what the main failings and common problems are with the T3.
Engines
Petrol or diesel?
Air cooled or water cooled
1.9 or 2.1 petrol
Turbo or non turbo diesel?
Rust
Wheel arches, body panels?
Any hard to obtain repair panels?
Common areas of unrepairable crust?

£3k is our budget, must be able to be used daily too if required...

Any help would be appreciated
Regards
