vw crafeter 2011 limp mode

   hi all new here.hope somebody can help
i have a 2011  2l crafter. , its in limp mode, local garage pluged a coputer in told me the secondary water pump had failed. i replaced that , had faults cleared still same problem.
when you start engine pump has power to it then power stops, dont no if its supposed to do this or not.
tried 2  other garages , both showed same fault , but no idea to fix it
