Last weekend a friend of mine called and told me that there's an 4X4 LT cab on sale in gov't surplus auction.
What a nice surprise!!
It was listed in the junk vehicle category but I decided it could be a nice donor for my 4X4 conversion and I can use bits like snorkel, seats etc.
Price was around EUR 1500 which is a little high for a junk van but as I recall from my experience junk vehicles in gov't auctions may sometimes come up like new and priced accordingly.
Anyway a visit to the auction site revealed that it isn't an LT but a better variant, a MAN 18.136.
What pity I can't register and drive it. I can't use it to transform my LT into an ultimate camper.
It lies in the junkyard and probably be sold for its salvage value.
As you can see from the photo it is almost ready for camper conversion.

there's an LT45 4x4 pickup on mobil.de at the moment for €2800.  sounds suspiciously cheap to me.  at that price, there must be sommit wrong with it.

[piccie is the link]

description [as translated by babelfish]:

"...VOLKSWAGEN LT 45 4x4, Ahk ball & Muzzle, servo, ZV, high tarpaulin, Div of spare parts, ideal forest forest and meadow vehicle also for building, Abgelastet; therefore small transporter insurance and truck tax, 3.5 Tonner, Standheizung without function, tire vo 20% tire rear 60% road all wheel, area all wheel 50% reduction, barrier vo + rear..."

i wonder what the 'standheizung' is? - because it seems to be broken

Auxilary heater/ night heater
Webasto probably if factory original, but its not functioning.
Maybe because of German rules, they have to chance burners every 10 years, its just disconnected.

It was also in Mammut/25 years Syncro.
Let's say that LT lived and I think the 18,500 is a bit much...
Very big...
