Firstly, what are the sdi engines like, are they slow?

Secondly, my brothers breaking a mk3 gti, are any parts compatible? I'm not wanting to swap engines, but any of the running gear or interior would be good,

cheers

Had an sdi a few years back as courtesy van from main dealers.

They proper suck cock, badly! Imagine driving a tdi with no compression/towing a huge trailer with a fucked MAF.

IMHO they are complete dogshit and you will hate it unless you like driving everywhere very slowly , get stuck in lane 1 on the motorway and youre fucked for getting into lane 2 unless there is a 3 mile gap.

they are dogshit- did i mention that already?

If it is for a daily driver you will probably top yourself at the end of the first week. If its just as a spare/weekends n stuff your mrs best get used to domestic violence....................

If its for work, be prepared to lose jobs/increase your hourly rate.

they are dog shit.

that include the earlier more simple 1y powered vans?

i have a 1y in my t3 and its slow.........!!!!!!!! but its a hell of a lot more weight and brick shaped.

WHY T3's.... because they are just so adictive, and having one just aint enough

I have a 1y caddy and can confirm they are slow as fuck. It's very economical but if you want it to shift you really have to wring its neck.
