My 2001 t4 no longer makes an annoying noise when I accidently leave the lights on.

Can't see any fuses related to this.

Any thoughts appreciated

Thanks

buggered contacts on your door switches?

Its a massively common issue!

Buy some hugely improved contact switches for peanuts and solve the issue for good Star

Alternative is to sand down the contacts, which is a temporary fix cos VW's design is cheep like tweety

thanks for the reply.

the door switches still work the interior lights okay, just not the buzzer.
could it still be that, even if the lights are working?

very much so. Mine are all interchangeably intermittent.

I temporarily fitted new switches and they all worked, but I need to get a propper crimping tool and some terminals and do a propper job

I had the same issue with mine - it worked fine for a few months then it just stopped no reason - (not long after fitting a new wireless in the dash) then its started working again - recon I must have pulled ona cable somewhere when fitting - I would'nt worry about it - as you walk away from van /car just turn round and check your lights are on - simple! Thumbs Up
