And yet another problem to overcome. Note how the rubber have separated from the trim in this old photo after the restoration? We don’t want this to happen again so we had to investigate as to the cause. Somewhile later… found it. See how the side panels have been stapled to the frame? This has caused the ali to be pressed in too far and is kicking out the top over-lapping panel. We’ll never get the rubbers to sit properly whilst it’s like that. So the staples were removed from the oanels on both sides. With the panels now sitting right, it’s time to put the new rubbers on. That’s better. Note the 2 metre sash clamp in the top left corner. That is used to press the ali trim in as far as we dare for a snug fit. Before: After: A tight fit all around and no gaps this time. Finally we are getting there...............

Great work, and such an improvement, but my question is, who badged this in the first place? No Karman?

The work was originally carried out by Mazz on here( See signature below ),After openly admiting on the Karmann forum he had made mistakes,He said he would take it back and put it right.... instead He fucked it a bit more..The pics tell thier own story

Cool as Progress on the van is coming on leaps and bounds,Will update again toward end of the week when time permits,Only minor work to finish now then onto some engine work and......the last pics will be of her finished BTW.Its been pointed out that im a tosser for publishing these pictures on a forum,In my defence,These pictures are of a restoration project on a T3 Karmann Cheetah,,,Nothing more,Nothing less and the pictures are to simply show the work being carried out...The pictures are not doctored,Photoshopped or messed with in any way....Draw your own conclusions

Update for today..... The edge of the bunk bed base is made from scratch. The wooden edges are rounded by using a router and sanded down for a smooth finish. The trim fits well and looks just like the original. The edge trim and bunk bed base is then varnished. Just the electrical covering to be fitted when the varnish is dry. This area willthen be completed.

Almost there now. Back end completed. Cable cover in the over-head cab fixed into place. Kitchen window removed to reseal that. When the red ali trim arrives, that will be fitted to the nearside and the roof bars mounted ontop of the roof. Then it's job done. The Cheetah should get a real test tonight and heavy rain is predicted overnight where it is - 4 to 6 hours worth.
