Hi,

New to the forum.  I got a 2001 X reg 2.5 LT35 ...

Whenever I get to above 50, 60, 70 say, it seems to lose all power, normal driving, low speed, 20, 30, 40, no problem, but above that is when it loses the power.

One local guy reckons it might be the diesel pump but that's gonna cost loads to replace, and it may not even be that!

Am I best booking it into VW for a diagnostics check?

I know there's a charge for this but hopefully VW HAVE TO TELL ME what the fault is etc, and I may get it done there afterwards. (Hopefully that'd avoid me shelling out say 1k for a new pump, only for it not to be that etc).

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

possible air mass. Take it off, rinse in a bowl of luke warm soapy water, dry off totaly and retry it. Does it do it all the time or do weather conditions make a difference? There is a known problem on the T5 and LT if driving in the rain.

Also it could be the turbo overboosting putting into limp mode. Is the problem intermitant or does it happen all the time? Does switching off the ignition clear the problem?

More details needed to diagnose effectively.

As for a VW diagnosis, there is not a lot of electronic gubbins on the LT, and tp be honest they can be difficult to diagnose on the machine and need old fashioned mechanicing
