Hi,

My sister in laws Beetle was stolen from the Greystones area (S11) of Sheffield sometine between 11pm Tues and 9am Weds 2nd July.

Car details:

White 1978 1200cc Beetle

reg: VJF 575S

The car is pretty standard and in good nick. The only real mod being an adjustable front beam with a slight drop at the front.

Please keep an eye out for it as she is gutted!

Someone mentioned the 'occupants of the manor'? Please expand, is there some idea where all these vehicles are going in Sheffield?!?!?!?

Is there a chance that its all just going down the scrap metal route due to the rising value?

If you'd ever had the pleasure(not!)of driving through the Manor area of Sheepfield you would know what i mean. The Hiab seems to be the vehicle of choice up there.

you know scrap metal/builders wagons have articulated/hydraulic arms similar to JCB back hoes ? a mini crane/lifting arm they are referred to as 'Hiabs' after one of the manufacturers.

we had our van stolen last week, from penistone road north, just along the way from where the dog had his stolen from. following a police chase (all of 32 mph)our van was recovered, but only after it had been driven through trees , the trees didnt bend but the bus did!!! the police didnt catch the little blighters, but our neighbour, who had his beloved jag stolen a few days before ours, was on alert that night, and so as he reported the bus was being nicked, he got a very good look and has identified the litte ftits at the police station. we have since found out our bus, the dogs' bus and two other high tops were all stolen and then dumped in the same place, at shirecliff. were getting our bus back tomorrow, so sadly, another classic off the road. but we can breathe life into many more. if anyone is interested in any parts, the bus is a 1.6D 1982 tin top. please ring, 07773428193.
thanks. paul and mel.

any more info on where these vans are being dumped as my sister in law is still looking for her Beetle that was stolen last month. I know there is probably no chance of finding now but the police have not been exactly helpful so we have been doing all we can....
