Rev Counter not working

   Hi all

I have a Rev Counter that won't work, I have so far checked the wire on the back of the alternator and I have a current at the positive on the foil that connects to the counter. I have even tried a spare one that I have and still nothing. 

Does anyone have a decent wiring diagram as the manual i have is a poor scan and mostly unintelligible.
