B5 stuff won't work here....We didn't get any B5's with VE pumps. He'd have to get something shipped over the pond.

My reference was to bracketry and such. I know we didnt get any VE B5s. But the blocks are the same. I am in Murrica, fwiw. Also possibly b5 1.8t stuff? Just thinking along the lines of longitudinally mounted 4cyl VW products..

Bit more done yesterday. Cut off the mounts as they will be mounted a bit more forward, put on an sump from a 1.8L so it would clear the main cross member. 99% sure the cover will have to be raised a bit. The oil filter fucks up the placement. Suppose I could cut a hole in it and glass on a cover for the filter.
Lots of room to work on the electric motors as the quattro box is forward of the back of the hatch. Edited by Canada LT28 - 23 Sep 14 at 00:52 |

?Could you use a remote filter to avoid hacking the cover about? You have probably already discounted that idea though.

Exactly what I was going to suggest! I've used one on this, in the top right of the picture: Makes filter changes easier too. |

Mid engined, 6 cylinder, turbocharged 2 seater - it can only be a VW LT!

Hmmmm, I will have to speak with Uberhare on that one. We had briefly contemplated moving it but IIRC there are some height restrictions.

Got the brackets in and welded. Except for the tranny support, the beast is mounted. Tranny support is next as well as well as the shifter linkage which has to cross over the from the port side to the sbd side where the pin is. Fun, fun, fun.
Looks like I will have to build up a 30mm lip around the dog house support. It will be a bit tight under there. Edited by Canada LT28 - 26 Oct 14 at 11:34 |

I just bought some "wolf" steel wheels for the LT. Bloody heavy beasts but can be drilled to 160mm

?Are they blanks to drill as you want?
I remember Wolfrace as being the thing in the 80s.

Sorry Chris, I just saw this. The rims are not blanks but have so much meat on them that you could drill 20 holes and still support the beast.
Regardless, here is a current engine in place, pic. On a crappy note (A flat minor) I blew the engine in my T3 yesterday. Now I have to rent a truck for a week. arrrrgggg Edited by Canada LT28 - 11 Jan 15 at 22:47 |

Shot of the sump. Tight squeeze above the cross member and I will have to raise the doghouse 30mm, perhaps more.
