Thats were you fell down.
If you had read the thread from start to end you would see that there is definately an interest for an owners club. Yes it may take some time to get off the ground, but there is interest.

Just so that people can see what can be achieved in a short space of time I have built the website and uploaded the start already.

Lots to do yet, but plenty of time to do it.

Take a look at it VW LT Owners Club ..

Its a start

Many Thanks.
It will stay free. Hopefully the advertising will eventually pay for the site.

The privacy policy comes as standard and can be changed. Not read it through yet, but please feel free to advise.

I have bought my own policy which I will list when I have tme to do so.

Please spread the word and any help and advice is appreciated.

I didn't "fall down" as you put it, I simply have a different point of view, as I've tried to explain in my previous post.

Please have another look at Baxter's post on p.3 of this thread.  If he hadn't done what he did, somebody else would be having to pay for lt owners to be able to communicate with each other on t'internet.

When I've got the time I'll read through all of this thread.

Good luck with your club website.

Tony

Thanks for that..
Everyone has there opinion. Read page 3 and the rest.
This is a forum not a website. I want to be able to talk and show pictures of trips and lt's.

Not looking at opening a forum, just a place where owners have easy access to stuff straight away, and not to have to scroll through every page of the forum looking for something which may not be there.

Cheers

I did originally start a site here > http://www.slinkysoftware.com/vwltclub/ but I never have the time to update it. It already has 99 members mostly off this forum, and it is a full CMS system so is easy to update. If anyone wants to take ownership of the site I'll be more than happy hand it over. Or even if anyone has any articles that they want to place on the site i can give author access.

PS I don't mind hosting it on my hosting package as it doesn't really get used for much anyway!

Cry Yes I know. That's me I am afraid.
That is what happens when you are away from your family and have loads of spare time in the evenings to write things. I will slow down back to normal eventually. Apologies...

You have a great forum here for chatting and posting comments.

Finding an LT is not easy. Most of the floridas or sven hedin's are still in Germany and not to many of them available at any time. The £ does not help in this case either.

The website - I will build that slowly as and when I manage to get some decent information to fill it with.

I would not be interested in running a CMS site. To little experience in that department. Good luck with that.

Welcome Kev,

I applaud your efforts, and I'd be happy to join the club. I agree with some of Tony's comments (canny bagga Tudor), that the Brick-Yard has served us well so far, and will remain a regular place for a chat or cry for help.

I do, however, agree with your view that  trawling through numerous posts to find what you want/need can be tedious to say the least! Useful info, technical tips, good campsites, member's vans, items for sale etc. etc. are all here somewhere, but quickly get lost as they are overtaken by new posts. The Autojumble ads are a particular frustration - occasional ads for LT parts and vans quickly get swamped by the vast array of ads from T3/4/5 owners that outnumber us by 100s to 1! And why is Ebay regarded with such revulsion?

That's my tuppence-worth anyhow!

Keep it rolling and best of luck with your LT search.

Regards,
Peter.

Hello Guglielmo,

I've visited this site many times - there are some fantastic pictures, loads of old brochures for the many different LT Camper/Motorhome conversions - Wonderful stuff! I would recommend a visit to everyone!

Regards,
Peter.

I like that idea.  However, when we have forum threads which contain useful info I reckon we should turn them into a short write-up to go on the lt page here:
http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpecific/Menu.htm

After a little while it could start to look like a really comprehensive list of useful info, like this one:
http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpecific/T3/info/menu.htm

There's a list of headings on the t5 page which we could adapt to give us a useful starting point?

Would this club be for all us LT owners?
I'm up for a club; theres more of us than you think...
depending on whether you include us sprinter look-alikes?
I'm just converting lt35 at present, and must say - could do with a club.

Maybe able to put some time in, but am a little unstable at moment from losing my wife.
Some days are good - some not. will always try and help where I can tho.

I have just spent 5 mts designing bed/seat specifically for the 35, works very well,
means now that 35 owners can have a true multi purpose van.
This design now means you can have 2 seats facing forward, reasonably close to driving compartment so you can engage in conversation etc, also 2 seats facing back that are used for dining seating.

Well - better shove off for now. Keep smiling

Exactly what needs to be happening! I`m up for the LT club, there may not seem to be many about at shows, but I think the club would help pull the LT`s together and help be recognized.

Hi There, a club page at last!  I think we all have useful bits and pieces, so let us know how to submit material and then things will start happening I guess.
